so much writerly goodness

In the past few days, there has been just tons of great stuff coming out. I know I'm going to forget something, so I'll come back and edit as I remember. In no particular order:

Night Train is up and running again! And they're taking submissions. Of particular interest, they plan to publish one new flash every week. So go! Submit!

insolent rudder has a new issue up, with fiction by SLQ editor Katrina Denza, SLQ author Davin Malasarn, and SLQ author-to-be (in our upcoming issue) Debbie Ann Eis. The author spotlight shines on previous SLQ guest editor and top ten stalwart Jeff Landon, and the author interview features frequent SLQ author Susan Henderson. Also features the always cool Dennis Mahagin. That, my friends, is one hell of a lineup.

The latest Kelly Spitzer's Writer Profile Project is up: Ann Walters, who has graced SLQ's pages a couple times now, and is a very cool woman to boot. I especially loved her answer about her profile photograph: totally heart-melty.

Vestal Review has a new issue up featuring, among others, SLQ author and Flashquake editor Didi Wood.

Speaking of Flashquake, their spring issue is up, and features SLQ alum Wayne Scheer and the aforementioned Kelly Spitzer.

NOÖ Journal's latest ish is up, too, and features no SLQ alums! But it still kicks ass.

And have you read Juked? They update so frequently that it's difficult to single out an issue, per se, but some recent authors include Ann Walters (that same groovy chick in the interview link above), Cami Park, Kathy Fish, Myfanwy Collins, Elizabeth Ellen, and Joseph Young. That's a lot of very, very fine reading right there.

3:AM Magazine is another frequent updater, and some of the folks recently featured there are Claudia Smith, Kim Chinquee, Debbie Ann Eis, and Myfanwy Collins.

Finally, my absolute favorite annual issue of Hobart is live. My Mariners are 2-0 to start the season against the dastardly Oakland A's (against whom my M's went 2-17 last season!) and I'm feeling giddy. Reading Hobart's annual baseball stories only increases the giddiness.
