Initially, I intended to use this space for NaNoWriMo ('04). I've since changed my mind. In general, this space will deal with the various things I'm doing as a writer and editor, but will occasionally delve into the personal as well. As if there are blogs that don't.
Inspired by the reviews of Fringehead, The Angler, and Storyglossia, we've started reviewing stories on SmokeLong. Index is here, and the first review is here. Look for new reviews once a week.

This past semester in the comp class I was teaching, during our three weeks devoted to literature, my students were sick of the stories in the reader--Joyce's "Araby," Williams' "The Use of Force," etc.--so I brought in some flash fiction, including "Blood." Actually, I taught "The Sky is a Well" around that time, too.
Oh, how cool is that? I'm going to be on the lookout fairly consistently for other great stuff to review/recommend, so if you have any faves, feel free to shoot 'em my way.
